African-Inspired Three-Stone Diamond Engagement Ring with Ruby & Enamel

$2,990.00

This custom Eswatini-inspired three-stone engagement ring combines a 1 ct natural kite-shaped center diamond with two approximately 0.18 ct natural side diamonds and small natural ruby accents. Crafted in 14K yellow gold with black enamel details, the design uses an unusual geometric center stone, strong color contrast and a substantial setting to create a ring with a distinctive identity.

The kite-shaped center diamond gives the composition its strong elongated geometry, while the side diamonds and natural rubies create a gradual transition into the wider yellow-gold shank. Black enamel adds additional contrast and makes the gold, diamonds and red ruby accents stand out more clearly.

The ring is individually handcrafted and can be customized around a different center diamond, gemstone, proportions or design direction.

IMPORTANT PRICE NOTE: THE DISPLAYED PRICE IS FOR THE CUSTOM SETTING ONLY.
The 1 ct natural center diamond is NOT included in the displayed price and is selected and priced separately. The setting price includes the side diamonds, natural ruby accents, 14K yellow gold construction and black enamel work.

Eswatini Heritage Engagement Ring

An Engagement Ring Designed to Honor Her Eswatini Heritage

This custom three-stone diamond engagement ring was created around one central idea: to acknowledge and celebrate where the woman who would wear it comes from. Her roots in Eswatini became part of the ring itself, influencing its colors, center-diamond silhouette, materials and hidden personal details.

Yellow gold, red rubies and black enamel create a palette drawn from the colors and symbols of Eswatini. At the center, an unusual kite-shaped natural diamond recalls the pointed geometry of the traditional Swazi shield, while the construction was made deliberately substantial for an energetic, active wearer.

Center Stone Kite-shaped natural diamond with likely African origin
Accent Stones Side diamonds with small ruby accents
Metal & Detail 14K yellow gold with black enamel
Design Origin Eswatini heritage · flag colors · traditional shield

The Cultural Reference

Designed Around Where She Comes From

The cultural references were not added as decoration after the ring was designed. They formed part of the design brief from the beginning. The intention was to make her heritage recognizable through color, shape and material without turning the ring into a literal reproduction of a national symbol.

The red and yellow references come from the Eswatini flag, while black is drawn from the prominent black-and-white traditional shield at its center. The ring translates those references into ruby, yellow gold and black enamel.

Four Defining Features

Heritage, Protection and Everyday Wear Built into One Ring

01

A Shield-Like Diamond with a Likely African Origin

The unusual kite-shaped center diamond was selected partly because its pointed outline echoes the geometry of the traditional Swazi shield. The diamond was purchased on the secondary market and traced through the available supply history with high confidence to an African origin. Because mine-level origin cannot be independently guaranteed for most diamonds already in the market, we describe the African provenance as likely rather than absolute.

02

Her Heritage Expressed Through Color

The color palette was chosen deliberately. 14K yellow gold carries the yellow reference, small rubies introduce red beside the side diamonds, and black enamel runs along the shank. Together they translate colors associated with the Eswatini flag and its central shield into materials that belong naturally in the ring.

03

Built to Protect the Diamond from Every Side

This ring was intentionally made stronger than a typical delicate engagement ring. The center diamond is surrounded by a custom protective structure that combines elements of a bezel with substantial custom supports. Small windows remain beneath and around the stone so light can reach the diamond and the underside remains accessible for cleaning. The shank itself is also wider and thicker than a standard engagement-ring band.

04

A Low Setting Made for an Active Lifestyle

Durability was part of the design brief from the beginning. The wearer is energetic and expressive, so the ring needed to tolerate the accidental knocks that happen in real life. Keeping the center composition low to the finger reduces unnecessary exposure, while the substantial construction gives the ring a secure and comfortable feel rather than relying on a tall, delicate setting.

On the Hand

Substantial Without Sitting High

The wider shank and protective center construction give the ring more physical presence than a conventional delicate engagement ring. At the same time, the low setting keeps the diamonds close to the finger, making the design more practical for the active lifestyle it was created around.

A Private Detail

Engraved in siSwati

The cultural connection continues in one detail that is intentionally not shown here. A personal message was engraved on the back of the ring in siSwati, one of Eswatini’s official languages. The wording belongs to the couple, so it remains private.

Custom Made

Create a Ring That Recognizes Where She Comes From

Heritage can become part of an engagement ring without simply copying a national symbol. Color, architecture, traditional objects, language, materials and family references can all be translated into the structure of a custom design.

The result can acknowledge a hometown or culture while still being created specifically for the person who will actually wear the ring.
